This can reduce your food bill by thousands of dollars annually and you will eat fresher more nutritous food as well as getting a lot of fresh air and exercise. 4) Hang clothes to dry on a clothesline. This saves energy 5) Make a compost pile. This saves kitchen and yard waste from going into the land fill and provides your garden's soil with great fertilizer 6) Shop at your local farmers market. You will be supporting local farmers and your local economy and getting the best food money can buy. 7) Ride the bus. if you live in an urban area with public transportation use it instead of your car/truck. this saves gas, wear and tear on your vehicle as well as cutting down on congestion.
